Whole-home renovations, by contrast, involve coordinating demolition, structural, mechanical, and finish work across multiple rooms simultaneously — and often while the homeowners still live in the space. Our project managers use detailed phasing plans that keep bathrooms and kitchens operational on rotating schedules so daily life continues with minimal disruption, even during substantial renovations.

Open-concept conversions are one of our most-requested remodeling services across the Portland metro area, particularly in older homes built in the 1970s and 80s when compartmentalized floor plans were the norm. Removing walls between kitchens, dining rooms, and living areas transforms how these homes live — but done incorrectly, it creates structural problems that can take years to manifest. We engage a licensed structural engineer for every load-bearing modification, install properly-sized beams with correct bearing points, and coordinate with your jurisdiction for permits and inspections. Basement finishing is a strong value-add for Portland-area homes given the metro's tight housing market. A finished basement adds usable square footage for a fraction of the cost of a second-story addition. Our basement remodeling process addresses the unique challenges of below-grade construction: moisture management with proper vapor barriers and drainage, egress windows for bedroom legality, adequate ceiling heights, and quality insulation. Finished basements become family rooms, home offices, guest suites, home theaters, gyms, and in many cases ADUs with separate entrances that generate rental income.
