Bathrooms in Portland, Oregon

Western Build and Design Construction is Portland Oregon's premier bathroom remodeling contractor. From guest bath refreshes to luxury master suite transformations, we handle every phase of the project in-house — design, plumbing, electrical, tile, waterproofing, and all finish work. Our bathrooms combine timeless materials with smart engineering so they look beautiful and perform reliably for decades of daily use.

Our bathroom remodeling services cover the full scope of the project: walk-in shower conversions with frameless glass enclosures, freestanding and drop-in tub installations, custom vanity design and build, double and single sink configurations, quartz and stone countertops, floor and wall tile, heated floor systems, upgraded ventilation, modern plumbing fixtures, LED lighting, and ADA-compliant accessibility modifications. We also handle complete plumbing relocations and layout changes when your existing floor plan doesn't work for how you use the space.

Get a Free Estimate

Every bathroom project begins with a free in-home consultation. We measure the space, discuss your priorities — more storage, a bigger shower, a separate water closet, better lighting — and present layout options and material selections tailored to your budget. Once you approve the design and estimate, we pull permits, schedule the work, and assign a dedicated project manager. Most bathroom remodels take 3-6 weeks from demolition to completion depending on scope, with simple updates finishing in 2-3 weeks and full master bath transformations running 6-8 weeks.

Bathrooms are uniquely demanding spaces — they combine water, humidity, electricity, and daily wear. We use proper waterproofing methods (Schluter-Kerdi, RedGard), premium tile installation, and ventilation systems sized for the space. Every bathroom we build is fully permitted and inspected to Oregon code. Western Build is fully licensed (CCB), bonded, and insured, carries an A+ BBB rating, and has earned multiple Angi Super Service Awards. Contact us for a free bathroom design consultation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Portland?
Bathroom remodels in Portland typically range from $15,000 for a guest bath refresh with new fixtures, tile, and vanity to $60,000+ for a luxury master bath with walk-in shower, freestanding tub, custom vanity, and premium finishes. We provide free in-home estimates.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most bathroom remodels take 3-6 weeks from demolition to completion. A guest bath update can finish in 2-3 weeks, while a full master bath with layout changes, custom tile, and structural modifications typically runs 6-8 weeks.
Can you convert my bathtub into a walk-in shower?
Yes — tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most popular upgrades. We remove the old tub, reframe and waterproof the walls, install a curbless or low-curb shower pan, and add a frameless glass enclosure. It's a fantastic way to modernize an older bathroom and make it more accessible.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
Permits are required anytime plumbing, electrical, or structural changes are involved — which covers most bathroom remodels. We handle all permitting and inspections as part of our service so you don't need to navigate the process yourself.
Do you install heated floors?
Yes. Radiant heated floor systems are a relatively affordable luxury upgrade during a bathroom remodel. We install electric radiant mats under tile floors with a programmable thermostat. It's one of the most-loved features clients tell us about after move-in.
What tile do you recommend for bathrooms?
Large-format porcelain is our most-recommended floor and shower wall tile — it looks modern, has fewer grout lines, and handles moisture well. For accent walls and niches we work with mosaics, natural stone, and handmade zellige tile. We walk through options with samples during your design consultation.
Can you design a bathroom for aging-in-place or ADA access?
Absolutely. We build curbless showers, grab-bar blocking, ADA-compliant vanity heights, wider doorways, and comfort-height toilets. Planning for aging-in-place during a remodel is far less expensive than retrofitting later.
How do you prevent mold and water damage in new bathrooms?
Proper waterproofing is the single most important part of a bathroom remodel. We use Schluter-Kerdi or RedGard waterproofing systems behind tile, install proper vapor barriers, size bathroom fans to the square footage, and use mold-resistant drywall in wet areas. This is where corner-cutting by other contractors causes the most expensive failures down the road.
